The Vu

As you walk tentatively up a staircase in the back of what seems to be a bar/dance club, a huge football player sized man stops you and asks you for your ticket. You drop you’re ticket into the specialized cup and are led to your table. A waitress comes by and takes your order and quickly returns with your desired pleasantries. As you wait for the food, you notice multiple TVs playing the highlights of the latest sports games being played. Does anyone here a good time?

Déjà Vu Comedy Club is probably one of my favorite places in Columbia, MO. It is about a ten minute walk from the University of Missouri campus and has had famous comedians from all over the U.S. come and give there stand up act to over one hundred people at a time. As you enjoy laughing hysterically at the comedian’s subtle jokes, which they surprisingly are able to keep a fairly straight face during, waitresses walk to and from the bar with drinks and food. So while you are stuffing your face with steaming hot pizza that burn the inside of your lip, you can’t help but laugh at the meaningless absurd jokes the comedian throws at you.

There are usually shows every Thursday through Saturday night and last till about 11 pm. After the fun and games with the comedian you can then head down to the hopping dance club on the lower floor. The music played varies from present to past great dance hits. You can dance your night away with the local DJs playing at The Vu that night.

Getting your groove on, getting your laugh on, and getting your food on, what more could you need to have a great party night?
